University of Washington Seattle Grad Cap and Gown Photoshoot

The UW is one of my all-time favorite photoshoot locations for a couple of reasons. First, if you’ve been there, you know how beautiful it is! The campus is full of impressive architecture, new and old, and is meticulously landscaped with beautiful flowers during the spring and summer, and ivy and trees that turn yellow and orange in the fall. The second reason I love shooting at UW is because it is my alma mater! I’ve spent many, many hours exploring the campus so I know it like the back of my hand.

So when I get the opportunity to photograph UW grads, I am always super excited! This time I photographed Chiemi’s grad portraits. Even though the forecast called for rain, we decided to go for it. We only got rained on a little bit, and I brought a clear umbrella for her to hold as a prop, so it turned out great!

We kicked things off near the HUB and took advantage of the brick building look.

Next, we made our way to the front of Suzzallo Library in Red Square. This is definitely a popular spot for cap and gown photos at UW!

At this point it started lightly raining, so we decided it was a good time to head inside Suzzallo and get some shots on the curved stairway and the famous Hogwarts-esque Reading Room!

Finally, we walked across campus to the Law Building, a very modern-looking building on northwest campus! I also took a few shots along the way.

And that’s a wrap! If you are looking for a college grad photoshoot, I’d love to work with you! You can click here to book a photoshoot with me anytime.
